Where to go and What to do?
I know I have the same problem when my family comes round for Christmas. It’s a tiny bit of hell and a sprinkle of love but what’s worst is the antsy problem of keeping them busy, or even just sending them out to do their own thing around town. They don’t know what’s going on or where to go themselves. Thinking on it, it’s actually painstakingly difficult.
This is where I can use digital wayfinding. A perfect application for navigation, that is digitalised with detail allowing visitors to navigate like a local.
Looking at Kardinia Park – home of the Cats, one the greatest football clubs in Australia. From an outsider’s perspective, it’s just that, but it’s more, there is a year-round experience to have there, and digital wayfinding allows everyone to visualise all the potential experience to have there through the modern map.
Not only is there the history of the park going back to 1872, but there’s also entertaining events and other hidden pockets of experiences such as sensory zones and playgrounds. If the cousins want to go straight to the playground to drop the kids off, digital wayfinding gives you the quickest route and then allows you to find Grandad who might be off reading about the history of the park. Knowing my younger cousins, bathroom breaks always come at the most inconvenient time, but by simply adding ‘bathrooms’ into your route to the playground, it shows you the nearest bathrooms to take while getting to the playground.
Digital wayfinding lets me palm off my relatives to such venues so that they can navigate like a local and experience the hidden treasures of venues with ease so that I can finally put my feet up for a little and recover before they return.
If you are feeling guilty about not joining them, and decide to join in, digital wayfinding adapts for visitor profile interests and gives a filter to what you might enjoy more. I can join my relatives at the venue but experience and explore the location to what suits me or to what accommodates with what is happening at the venue (So I can still get some space from my relatives, especially if they’re hanging around too long after Christmas).
If Renovations are occurring, digital wayfinding acknowledges that and allows for the visitors experience to not be disrupted by this. Naveze allows everyone to navigate like a local and enjoy their own interests at your destination.
